Presidential Wings - Columbia, SC

As President of the Internet BMW Riders (we're all Presidents), I started a tradition many years ago of hosting Presidential lunches and dinners at my friendly neighborhood Hooters. They're everywhere! Being on the road on business in cities far from The Bunny Cave, I tended to eat alone. By hosting a bi-weekly event I call `Presidential Wings` (Hooters is famous for their chicken wings), I can share a wing and some stories with fellow BMW owners. Tonight I hosted such a gathering at the Hooters Harbison in Columbia, South Carolina where I'm working a contract project. The project concludes tomorrow, so tonight I hosted the final Columbia Presidential Wings. Two local and one distant President joined me for dinner though none of us ordered wings. The potential was there, but Jim had nachos, Les had the Caesar salad, Robert had fish & chips and I had the Tater Tots (a new menu item). The Harbison location was host to a monthly Bike Night which featured the Hooters Drag Bike. Hooters Girl Alissa provided us with excellent service and did not let our drinks get dry.

Savannah Presidential Dinner

I hosted the Internet BMW Riders' Savannah Presidential Dinner. Whenever two or more IBMWR Presidents get together, it constitutes a Presidential event. President Pirate John of Jacksonville, Florida joined me and four local BMW owners and riders for dinner at the Savannah Hooters. The service from Hooters Girl Ashley was great, the conversation was riveting and a great time was had by all.

Stan And Grace

My great uncle Stan and great aunt Grace live in Savannah, Georgia. I traveled from Columbia, South Carolina to see them. Stan was a pilot whose B-17 was shot out from under him over Paris during WWII. He escaped through the French Underground and walked across Spain to Gibraltar and freedom. Stan is an E&E - an escape and evade airman. He is listed on the E&E plaque on the grounds of the Eighth Air Force Museum in the Savannah area. Stan has flown almost every large bomber and transport aircraft in the US Air Force inventory. On Saturday I heard new stories about his time with the bush pilots in Alaska and hanging out with his good friend, Charles Lindbergh.

Hooters I Have Known

Jackie worked at the Two Notch Road location in Columbia, SC. She moved back to Wisconsin as college in South Carolina was more expensive than she expected. Jackie will be missed.

Does Warren Buffett Eat At Runza?

While working in Omaha, home of Berkshire-Hathaway's Warren Buffett, I had a question about this supposedly down-to-earth weathly individual. Does Warren Buffett eat at Runza? You can view the menu at www.Runza.com. I stopped by for a Runza stuffed sandwich at least once every two weeks. You must try one if you're in the area.

Welcome To The Bunny Blog

Greetings and welcome to the first entry of the Bunny Blog. I started this blog because #1 Son-Of-Bunny had one and I did not. That's a good 'nuff excuse to start one. I also took the time to secure a domain name, but since IronBunny.com was taken, I chose IronBunny.us. As I don't have the spare bucks for an actual website (which I need to learn to do and set up so that I can maintain photos of my travels), an actual website will have to wait.
